Developer Harvey Hernandez lists Brickell penthouse for $7M, Tesla included

Price breaks down to $1,158 per square foot, not including luxury electric car

Developer Harvey Hernandez has listed his Jade Brickell penthouse for $6.95 million.

Hernandez, president and CEO of Newgard Development Group, is also throwing in a Tesla Model X into the deal, according to the listing. Hernandez could not immediately be reached for comment.

Records show Jade PH 4707 LLC owns the two-story, 6,000-square-foot unit at 1331 Brickell Bay Drive. It was renovated by Urban Robot Associates and features European oak floors, Boffi fixtures, a Poliform kitchen, Lualdi Italian doors, and a leather-wrapped private elevator foyer.

Douglas Elliman director of luxury sales Brett Harris is the listing agent. Harris could not immediately be reached for comment.

At 6,000 square feet, the asking price breaks down to $1,158 per square foot – not including the luxury electric car. (A 2016 Tesla Model X starts at about $74,000.)

Hernandez bought the unit from J.J. Rendon, a political consultant, psychologist and political activist in Latin America. Records show he paid $4 million for the penthouse in 2015.

Other owners in the building include tennis champ Andy Murray. He reportedly had his unit under contract last year, but it looks like the deal fell through. That condo is still on the market, according to Redfin.

Newgard is based at 1330 Brickell Bay Drive – a short commute for Hernandez. The Miami-based developer recently completed Centro, a mid-priced condo tower in downtown Miami, which was built without a parking component. It’s also in the midst of developing the Gale Hotel & Residences Fort Lauderdale Beach.
